UX Case Studies

WestFit Health Club mobile app

Background:

WestFit is an indoor health club in Westford, MA that I belong to. It features an aquatic center with a 6-lane, 25-yard pool, adjacent hot tub, fitness center with classes, tennis and pickleball courts. The health club has a mobile and desktop application to sign up for classes, tennis/pickleball court and pool lane reservations.

Overview & objectives:

  • Improve the mobile app workflow to make a pool lane reservation. Starting from the Welcome screen:

    • Shorten the number of taps to make a (pool lane) reservation.  

      • Currently takes 8 taps to make a pool lane reservation and 9 taps to reserve a tennis/pickleball court. 

  • Eliminate taps to check your activity reservation details.

    • Currently takes 3 taps to check the details of single activity reservation.

  • Make the Access card (bar code on the welcome screen that needs to be scanned for access) easier to, well, access! 

  • Improve the look of the UI on these screens.

Scope & deliverables:

Redefined task flows with high-fidelity wireframes.
