Clinical Desktop Apps

CareTeamHub, which sits on the Salesforce Health Cloud platform, is for home nurses and clinic staff. CTH includes unique interfaces for Social Workers, Registered Dietitians, KCAs (Kidney Care Advocates), Clinic Managers, Admissions, etc. The platform is highly prescriptive, with the focus being on components available from their Lightning Design System. 

Improve Patient Admissions Workflow 

Part of a small team of UX designers and Product Managers tasked to improve the patient admissions workflow from the PIC (Patient Intake Coordinator) to a newly admitted patient. Explored using either the Salesforce Health Cloud or ARK platform. Produced low-fidelity wireframes as part of the POC.

End Users: Clinic Manager/Facility Administrator, Charge Nurse/RN, Patient Care Technician (PCT), Clinic Admin (Secretary), Hospital Patient Services Specialist (HPSS), Patient Insurance Coordinator (PIC)​.

Patient prioritization & status identification

  • Allow users to customize their patient prioritization – who they need to address first, most important need. 

  • At-a-glance identification – 

    • Amount of time left in 4-hr window​

    • Provider name

    • Insurance type

    • Start date

  • Identify non-urgent patients.​

Autosave & Role-based Signature Verification

  • Autosave - every field saved when you stop editing the field.

  • Allow users to open new tab for each patient workflow, working multiple patients at a time.

  • Role-based signature verification - only certain users will be authorized to sign. Credentialed vs. Non-credentailed.

Team-level communication

  • One chat thread per workflow.

  • Messaging/chat functionality for informal asynchronous communications with everyone in the workflow

  • Indicate ‘unread’ per user. Note unread chats. 

  • Option to have chat pinned

  • Search ability (word, person, etc.)
